- Dr. Sigmund is on the advisory council of the 11th International Conference on Ceramic Processing Science (ICCPS-11), which takes place on August 29th to September 1st at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. Link
- Ren Geryak, an undergraduate student, was awarded an HHMI scholarship.
- The National Academy of Engineering interviewed Dr. Sigmund on the water repellant surfaces developed by Shu-Hau. The interview was broadcast on NPR in Washington D.C.
